The Scrumptious Collection 3 – Review and Giveaway!

I’m delighted to be part of a blog/podcast tour bringing you a review of The Scrumptious Collection 3!

A gorgeous collection of 13 designs using Fyberspates Scrumptious yarn that comes in a variety of colours and from lace weight to chunky. The designs include 3 sweaters, 2 cardigans and 8 accessories.

If you follow the tour you will likely see these fabulous designs several times over but today I wanted to highlight my favourites. The designs that jumped out at me right away begging to be knit.

The patterns that immediately caught my attention were the Divelish Hat and Mittens by Rachel Coopey. It must be said that I may have a little knitting crush on Coopey’s work and it has gotten to the point where I can spot a Coopey knit before I see her name. I knew right away that these beautiful patterns were Rachel’s and they immediately joined my long list of Coopey designs I must knit.

The Divelish patterns are knit with Scrumptious 4ply, in the colourways Slate and Natural. The Scrumptious base is 45% silk 55% merino so you can imagine how delicious these accessories are to wear.  I actually ordered the same base but in the Cherry colourway to knit the Amberwell Shawl for the first Knit East Swap several years ago. It was fun to try out a silk base for the first time and it blocked like a dream!

You would think that these 2 fair isle designs were a pretty great addition to the collection but Rachel didn’t stop there, she has another 3 designs in the book!

The Lerryn Mittens by Rachel Coopey caught my eye as well. They are knit with Scrumptious DK and would definitely come in handy right now in the deep freeze we are experiencing. I love the combination of different textures used in this design.

This next one is just cosy!

Larigan by Amanda Crawford

A bulky weight cabled sweater with cowl neck and roomy, extra long sleeves, just what my needles are craving. I love everything about this one, especially the colour! In fact the entire Scrumptious line has such brilliant saturated colours I don’t think you could go wrong choosing any of them. Larigan is one of those sweaters you can dress up or dress down, a must to be eligible to become part of my wardrobe these days.

Lastly I took a shine to this little cardi.

 Rosemorran Cardigan by Belinda Boaden

Such a classic shaped little cardigan with an all over lace pattern that would make a sweet addition to any wardrobe. You could knit Rosemorran with a neutral shade of Scrumptious 4ply for a cardigan that will go with just about anything or add a pop of colour to brighten up your wardrobe. I think maybe one of each is in order but whatever you choose this little cardigan will always be in style.

  1. Scrumptious Chunky in Purple, to knit that incredible Larigan pattern with!! It’s now on my list of things to knit.

  2. I’d love to try out Aran in Cherry colorway.
Kelly, I like the same pullover as you but especially for its stitch pattern.
    Cheers!

  3. Vivacious DK in Tweed Imp looks like it could work up into something fun for cold weather, like the Lerryn Mittens. I’d love to knit a pair!

  4. Love the Aran in the Cherry and Slate colorways. It would make a lovely colorwork scarf or shawl.

  5. Enabler, much? I’d love to work with the Deep Chestnut Scrumptious Chunky, specifically on the Larigan sweater. Thanks for pointing out this collection & yarns!

  6. They are all so amazing, how can I choose one. But the Ysolda colors are amazing especially that pale blue called sugar mouse slays me.

  7. Oh – I’d totally knit the Rosemorran cardigan in the 4-ply. But I can’t decide between the Gold or the Cherry! I love them both!

  8. Hmm… Scrumptious DK Worsted in Cherry Red. I’ve been looking for something super soft in a solid, deep red for a hot water bottle cover to lay on my pillow! Thanks for the giveaway!

  9. I love them all, but the Oyster color is such a fabulous warm neutral and it really shows off the sheen of the silk! I use 4-ply most often, but all the weights look yummy!

  10. I needed to look no further than the Iwerne cardigan. I love my semi-circular cardigan and it has a few holes in it. I think this is the replacement I’ve been looking for. Thank you for the opportunity and letting me know about new patterns out there!

  11. I would love to try the sport weight/4ply in the purple or Ysolda color. Lovely yarns!

  12. I just love the Chunky Chestnut. What a gorgeous brown! I love that Larigan sweater. Definitely adding to my queue. :)

  13. Oh its all so beautiful…how could you pick just one…Oh to win the lottery and order sweaters worth of every colour! Purple is usually my go to colour but seriously I love them all! The lace weight comes in 1000yd skeins, nice. I like the All the patterns too but Rosemorran is on my list for next cardi and now Largian!
Thanks Kelly for this chance to win such a beautiful collection of patterns. Oh and I have to say that I was looking at soveryshannon’s blog and followed you from there it took me to your old site and the picture of you and your brother….I thought it was your daughter… does she ever look like you!

  14. Oh my gosh! To choose just one is hard! My go to colour is purple but I also love magenta and gold in the 4 ply! Ok to choose just one…it will be 4 ply Magenta! The colours are just so beautiful!! The hat and mittens are on my list now! Love them! Thank you for the chance!

  15. I would love to try the chunky magenta or teal for the Larigan sweater. The collection is amazing and I love every one of the patterns!

  16. Oh my. It was hard to choose, but I would love to try the Chunky in Water. For a cowl to match my sister’s eyes! :)

  17. Beautiful patterns! I would try the Scrumptious aran weight in midnight! Hah, bet you thought I was going to pick something grey… :-)

  18. As soon as the Divelish hat & mitts popped up on Ravelry I’ve been dying to cast on, despite the ridiculous heat of our Australian summer! I think they’d look great in the Scrumptious 4ply in Natural & Cherry.

  19. I’d love to try the Scrumptious Aran weight; I’ve never used it before, and that slate color is to die for!
