Joining Ginny today for Yarn Along.
Knitting – I started a test for Elena of Anadiomena Designs. This one is similar to her Wild Vanilla pattern that I knit in the summer but this time with a fun kangaroo pocket that I think T will really love. T is finding most wool itchy at the moment, especially Berroco Ultra Alpaca, hopefully she will grow out of this, but for now I’m going with Berroco Comfort and hope that it keeps the itchiness at bay. T chose the colour, it was the closest thing she could find to Robin’s Egg Blue, everything is about birds right now. I’ll tell you more about the birds another time.
Reading – T and I have been reading lots of Fancy Nancy. I love these books so much such a delight to read. Nancy has a big vocabulary which is great for my little book worm, she has a wonderful imagination and is filled with creativity. I highly recommend Nancy for your little book worms.
Reading or knitting anything fun today?
I’ve very slowly been reading “A Casual Vacancy” but it’s slow going because I don’t take the time to read like I should. I spend that time knitting instead
I’m hoping to settle in to knitting with a (guess what) mohair cardigan, also blue, but much lighter than T’s. Would love to know about the birds! I find that children are really funny sometimes… A little girl I know actually asked for a doll that ‘pees’ for Christmas. No idea where that came from!
Awe!!! Fancy Nancy. Love those books

T will look great in that color! I’m a big supporter of books! Although I’ve not read any of the Fancy Nancy books…..and I love birds myself…own 3…
I don’t have any young girls
Every time I see these books displayed at Barnes & Noble
I must stop and flip through the pages
I love the illustrations!
Hugs
Gorgeous color — I love Berocco but haven’t knit with comfort yet. Looking forward to hearing (and seeing) more about this test knit.
I love love love that colour — that yarn just makes those cables pop! So lovely!! I’m knitting myself a scarf and reading Gone Girl. Tonight’s kid-bedtime-story will likely be something Super Hero-ish.
I hope T isn’t allergic, that color is just lovely. I’m in between knitting projects now and we’re slowly reading through the list of “100 books to read in Kindergarten” – Kiki’s having so much fun checking off the boxes on her list.
We’re big fans of Fancy Nancy in this house. (They’ve started a “detective” series for the 8ish yro crowd…also very good.) After we worked our way through Nancy, we started in on the Pinkalicious ones…although there’s a little sass to those.

enjoy!!
Oh we love Fancy Nancy! I don’t think we’ve read the one in your photograph… I’ll have to check it out from the library.
