We are just one week away from the cast on date!
September 24th we will be casting on for this beautifully cabled and cozy cardigan.
People have been asking about my yarn choice…. well here it is.
This is Cascade Eco in colour 8061, a light beige.
I wanted to be able to wear this cardigan with absolutely anything and not have to worry about clashing so I think beige will be a great choice.
I’m choosing to knit this in pieces and seam together although going seamless did cross my mind.
I know a lot of people cringe when they hear the word “SEAMING” but I’ve put together some great seaming tutorials to help you out. Its really is simple once you get a rhythm going so check out my videos!
We have quite a team of knitters ready to tackle this project together and we’d love to have you knit with us!
The Team *so far*
SARAH HEIDI MICHELLE HANNAH RONNIIE
JESS EVELYN ANNABELLE2 ELIZABETH
CHRISTINED LETE ALAINA SARA KELLY
REBECCA JESSICA SHANNON GEORGIE
LACEY TINA JEANNIE EMILY ANNIE
Feel free to join in at anytime just let me know and I”ll add you to the list!

My yarn is caked and ready to go so tell me…
What yarn are you using and how will you knit your Aidez??

You almost had me with this KAL…. but I didn’t have any chunky yarn in the stash! I did however, cast on for a different cardigan – so I can feel all warm and cozy with the rest of you.
How do I join the KAL? I’ve had Aidez in my queue and the Cascade Eco yarn in my stash for awhile now. I’ve just been waiting for a nudge!
That looks like a beautiful piece. Good luck with it!
ooh ooh me me!!! I’m in!
I think I’m going with Cascade Eco+ in green (“Shire” colorway). I think it’s going to look great with dark denim and have made it my goal to be done by St. Patty’s Day. (I know, I know, but I’m trying not to be too ambitious with my goals right now – lol!)
Thanks for the seaming tutorials! Gotta say seaming has never really been my forte!
Looking forward to casting on! It’ll be a great start to Fall
oh my, the 24th is fast approaching….I better get my yarn caked.
I’m using the Peruvia Quick, in a medium grey color…..
The seaming tutorials are going to come in handy!!!! I think I will cake my yarn tonight.
Super cute last pic! Gotta wind my yarn, take a preliminary photo or two, tomorrow hopefully!
I watched your seaming tutorials last night and loved each one. You’ve given me the confidence to seam …. seriously!!! Can’t wait to cast on the Aidez with everyone next week.
I’m going with Cascade Eco+ in Cinnamon, it’s a nice rusty orange-red. It’s caked and looks like terracotta pots. I am definitely going to consult your seaming tutorials. I thought about going seamless, but how am I ever going to be decent at seaming of I never do it!
Ooh, an Aidez KAL is very tempting! I knit it a couple of years ago and it is probably the most worn item I have ever knit. Only problem is, I used quite cheap synthetic yarn and you can barely see the cables and stitch patterns any more..
So count me in! I’ll be using New Lanark Aran (a bit harder wearing) in tweedy grey. I’m georgievinsun on Rav by the way
woop! super excited! and hoping i can keep up with you. ha. now just to cake my yarn….
Aidez looks so lovely, but I have a cable sweater with my name on it. I need to get a wriggle on as the weather seems to have turned in the last couple of days! Good luck with the KAL
One of my favorite designs that I’ve wanted to knit for a very long time! If it’s not too late, count me in too! I’ll be using my stash of Plymouth Baby Alpaca Grande.
Looks like T approves of the yarn choice as well.
This will be my first sweater knit in pieces. I just finished a Peasy cardigan and I had to mattress stitch the sleeves, but it wasn’t bad at all. It was kind of magical, actually. I’m going to have a hard time waiting until Monday to cast on!
Oh my, I wasn’t going to KAL on this because I’m not in the same city as my stash and I feel like I have a chunky yarn in there somewhere. But there are so many yarn stores around and I do love Cascade Eco+ like nobodies business . . . . so it may come down to me buying some tomorrow so I can take part. We shall see!
Ooops, I maybe accidentally bought some Cascade Eco+ in yakima heather along with a set of needles. Looks like I’m in for the KAL!
Love the last picture! You’re going to really enjoy this sweater, the cables keep the knitting interesting. Can’t wait to see your progress, it’s going to be one gorgeous sweater!
Looking forward to it- I still need to make sure I have my yarn picked though!
gonna follow along and read the posts with you even thoughI cast on last week and already have back and left front done, just want to see everyones projects take shape . ( mine is in eco+ pumpkin spice)
I just washed my gauge swatch so I probably won’t cast on until later….if I get gauge. I am using some RYC soft tweed in a mossy green colour.
My yarn still hasn’t come! It was shipped to NY by mistake and I’m waiting for my old landlord to ship it to CA. I might not be able to join you! I’m so bummed…

I swatched this weekend and I’m using size 10 needles. My gauge is too small so I’m knitting a size up, but my size 10.5 needles (Knitters Pride Dreamz) basically match my yarn and there was no way I was going to suffer through that for a whole sweater.
What is the timeframe for this KAL 9/24 to ?
I have a sweater I am going to try to finish up and would love to join, but it will have to be later rather than sooner. Please let me know =o)
Count me in too, ok? i will be using cascade ecological wool
in color 8018. unfortunately i don’t have a blog
How do I join? I LOVE how this looks. I know I’ll be behind, but please do send me info!
