It’s time for the Luvinthemommyhood’s Summer Sweater KAL
Start date is today June 27th
End date September 30th
That’s plenty of time to make a sweater…or two…or three.

My first sweater will be a stripey little number perfect for chilly Summer evenings.
I dug some cotton ease out my stash in Stone *the grey* and added a lovely coral colour called Terracotta to it.
I think this will be the perfect colour combo for a Shellseeker.

My only fear is that this may look potato sackish on me….
I’ll have a better idea once I get started but I will definitely be knitting the smallest size.

Kelly: That will be a beautiful sweater, and as we both know, when living on the coast, the evenings do require a sweater.
I have not written in a bit, as I am currently in Victoria receiving radiation treatment for a cancer under my right clavicle. It is beatable, but requires radiation (25 sessions) to be completed on 18 of July. Then after four to seven or so weeks, I will have surgery followed by chemo.
It was very painful, especially in my right scapula, and I have needed to switch from throwing to continental style. I may have told you this before, but the meds I am on do make me rather forgetful. I have signed up for a continental style purl tutorial. Knitting is fairly easy, but you can imagine that it has slowed me down a bit. I just want, and right now, NEED to knit. It can be done, and the rhythm of the needles is just so soothing!
I love the color and construction of Ravi! I am currentlyworking on Buttercup and will cast on Brooklet as my Tour de France project. I also am working on Flo the elephant from Knitty. At first when I learned about this new cancer, I was trying to eat the ‘elephant’ in one day. Can’t be done, and I have had to learn to do it slowly day by day. Flo was/is her name and I kept it that way, as I am learning to go with the flow!!
Happy knitting, Kelly. I just mailed out another copy of “Red Is Best” to a little great great niece who is turning one on Thursday. It is a board book!
Enjoy summer – it is beautiful here today, but I am sure you are aware that parts of our province are flooding.
Hello to “T”. Peg
I LOVE this pattern! I think that the shaping to the pockets help the eye to add more than just a ‘sack’ look. Oh I’m a little jealous to be honest, looks like a fun knit!!
It’s not going to look one bit potato sackish, in fact, it’s going to look lovely in the colors you’ve picked out! I’ve missed the cast on date, but at least I’ve swatched for Ravi and I might even squeeze out a Vodka Lemonade later in the summer, we’ll see:)
Nice choice! There is no way that sweater will look potato-sackish on your lithe frame (now on me it would be another matter).
